Complete Website Redesign, Custom RSVP Ticketing & Member Directory for a Nonprofit Foundation
Elios Charitable Foundation came to us with an outdated website that didn't reflect the prestige of their mission or their high-profile fundraising galas. We delivered a complete digital transformation — modernizing the website design, building a custom React-based RSVP ticketing system integrated with WooCommerce for complex multi-tier sponsorship packages, and creating a password-protected member directory powered by Advanced Custom Fields with custom post types. The result is a modern, polished platform that serves donors, sponsors, and members all in one place.
The Challenge
The Elios Charitable Foundation's website was dated and didn't communicate the impact of their work or the sophistication of their gala events. The site needed a complete visual and structural overhaul to better engage donors, tell their story, and drive event registrations. Their event ticketing process was broken — sponsors purchase multi-seat packages across 7 tiers (Table Sponsor, Gold, Silver, Bronze, Couple, Individual, and Virtual), and each sponsor needs to provide full guest details for every attendee. Off-the-shelf event plugins couldn't handle this hybrid sponsorship model, and guest data wasn't flowing into order management or email confirmations. On top of that, the foundation needed a private member directory where members could browse and connect with each other — but it had to be password-protected and easy for staff to manage without touching code.
What We Built
Complete Website Redesign
Transformed the entire elios.org website with a modern layout, updated visual hierarchy, and polished design that reflects the foundation's mission and prestige. Restructured the site architecture for better storytelling — making it easy for visitors to understand their impact, browse upcoming events, and take action as donors or sponsors. The new design brought the site into a modern workflow with clean typography, improved navigation, and a professional aesthetic that matches the caliber of their charitable galas.
React RSVP Ticketing Component
Built a custom React application with a premium glassmorphism UI for event registration. The component displays 7 sponsorship tiers as interactive selection cards with seat counts, pricing, and descriptions. When a sponsor selects a package, a dynamic guest details form expands — generating the exact number of guest fields based on the tier's seat allocation (e.g., Table Sponsor = 10 seats, Couple = 2 seats). Each guest entry captures first name, last name, email, and dietary preferences.
WordPress Plugin & WooCommerce Integration
Created a custom WordPress plugin (elios-react-rsvp) that wraps the React component via shortcode and bridges the frontend to WooCommerce. The plugin registers a REST API endpoint that receives the selected package and guest details, then programmatically creates a WooCommerce order with the correct product, pricing, and guest metadata attached to each line item.
Bug Fix & Email Automation
Diagnosed and fixed a critical silent bug where an outdated WooCommerce hook was failing without any error — guest data simply wasn't being saved to orders. Rebuilt the integration using the correct hook for modern WooCommerce. Added email integration so guest names, emails, and dietary preferences automatically appear in all order confirmation emails sent to both sponsors and event coordinators — eliminating manual data entry entirely.
ACF Member Directory
Built a password-protected member directory using Advanced Custom Fields Pro and Custom Post Types. Each member is a custom post type with custom fields for name, photo, bio, title, contact information, and membership details. The directory page is password-protected so only authorized members can browse and connect with each other. Staff can add, edit, and manage member profiles directly from the WordPress admin without any developer involvement — just fill in the fields and publish.
Hosting & Infrastructure
Managed the full WP Engine hosting environment including production deployments, plugin updates, and WooCommerce configuration. Configured email notifications to route to the foundation's coordinator inbox. Ensured compatibility with WooCommerce HPOS (High-Performance Order Storage) for modern order management.
